This book is a must have for every astrologer. It helps us deeply and truly understands the psychological side of astrology.
It starts with a decent explanation of each planet and the psychological meaning behind it. For instance what is the meaning of Pluto in the chart, how it affects the individual.
Next we have two important parts – how to calculate a chart and the meaning of the aspects.
Again, this is done from the psychological perspective of the aspects. This is not about predictions however understanding this part would help a lot in other areas of astrology.
Total of 9 aspects are listed and explained, personally I think these are the major ones anyway.
Part 1 of the book - important highlights
Chapter #4
Chapter 4 is also dedicated to the aspects, but this time with a curious interpretation of the importance of an aspect, talking about the orbs and what is an applying aspects. There is more to this chapter.
Chapter #5:
Chapter 5 is the real hidden treasure in this book and has information I have not come across in any other book. Here, the signs are explained from the perspective of their qualities and there is a meaningful explanation on what to expect from a person with these positions in their chart. For example if the person has Aries and Cancer square.
Also, in chapter 5 you can find the grand trines explained by element.
Part #2
Part 2 of the book is dedicated to traditional interpretation of the aspects between planets – Sun – Jupiter aspect, Moon- Mars etc.
This is a textbook part for psychological astrology and you can come back to it as many times as you need as it is extremely valuable when interpreting a chart.
Part #3
Part 3 of the book is another excellent read that you do not find in other books.
Sue Tompkins is focused on the angles of the chart and lists the influence of all 10 planets when they are positioned on an angle. I find the information here very intriguing and above all extremely insightful! A little frittering how right is Sue Tompkins in her writings …..
